It was only announced a few days ago that Ross would emcee this year’s ceremony. She amusingly posted on Instagram, “I couldn’t miss the @AMAs honoring my mom @DianaRoss… so I’m hosting the show!” The actress’ iconic mother was chosen back in October to be the 2017 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient. In addition to giving a speech, she’s expected to also do what will surely be a memorable performance.

Of course, she’s just one of many artists slated to take the stage during the three-hour live show. Kelly Clarkson and Pink will open the broadcast with their first-ever joint performance, while Imagine Dragons will be collaborating with Khalid. Hailee Steinfeld, Alesso, Florida Georgia Line and Watt are all teaming up together, too, as are Zedd and Alessia Cara. Demi Lovato will belt “Sorry Not Sorry,” and Selena Gomez plans to give her debut TV performance of “Wolves.”

The event will also mark a “first” for BTS, as this will be the first time the K-pop group performs at an American awards show. Christina Aguilera also signed on to do a tribute in honor of Whitney Houston and the anniversary of The Bodyguard. Shawn Mendes, Niall Horan, Nick Jonas and Portugal. The Man are all performing, too. And then there’s Lady Gaga, who will be featured via satellite from her Washington, D.C. concert.

Amidst all the performances, awards will be handed out. For that, and to introduce all the special music moments, a number of stars from music, TV, movies and beyond have signed up to help out. DJ Khaled, Ciara, The Chainsmokers, Heidi Klum, Billy Eichner, Yara Shahidi, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Jared Leto, Jenna Dewan Tatum and Mark Cuban are just some of the famous faces taking part. The AMAs are scheduled to air on ABC at 8 p.m. Eastern, following a Twitter-only red carpet pre-show. Stay tuned for the live stream!

Closing out the year in pop culture is ABC’s American Music Awards, hosted by black-ish’s Tracee Ellis Ross and featuring an impressive roster of performers, including Kelly Clarkson, Nick Jonas, and Lady Gaga.

The awards, which are entirely decided and voted on by fans, offer an egalitarian read on the state of pop music outside of the Recording Academy, which decides Grammy winners, and nominally without industry interference. This is not to say, however, that the show will be at all short of A-list talent. Bruno Mars, The Chainsmokers, Drake, Kendrick Lamar and Ed Sheeran are all up for Artist of the Year.

Host Tracee Ellis Ross’s mother, Diana Ross, will perform and receive the American Music Award for Lifetime Achievement, and Christina Aguilera will pay tribute to Whitney Houston by performing music from the late star’s movie, The Bodyguard, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this month.

Excitingly, Selena Gomez will perform for the first time in a year, after receiving a kidney transplant over the summer, and K-Pop group BTS will make their stateside television debut.

The show is scheduled to be broadcast live on ABC on Sunday, November 19, at 8 p.m. ET, and is shaping up to be a star-studded affair that should not be missed.
